I joined as an engineering partner after the initial founder had a promising early prototype. My work has been to turn it into a coherent product: hardening code quality, reviewing PRs, polishing features added by my client/colleague, working out the flows and UX, and adding new product features myself.
What was getting in the way.
The product had a strong business idea and an early prototype, but it needed engineering discipline to become something users could trust. The challenge was to make the flows understandable, make the codebase maintainable, and turn separate scan, report, portal, billing, and website-builder ideas into one product that actually worked end to end.
How I built around it.
I became the quality gate for the codebase: reviewing PRs, tightening implementations, polishing UX, fixing broken paths, and adding features where the product needed them. My largest owned feature area is the AI website builder and generation flow, including onboarding, generated website content, theming, template rendering, editing, version history, and the bridge from scan/audit data into a usable customer website.
